Adani has seven siblings. All his family members had migrated from the town of Tharad in the northern part of Gujarat. His whole family was involved in the textile industry. At a young age, Adani was entirely ambitious and determined toward high career goals.

After that, he built his own Diamond Brokerage Firm business in Zaveri Bazar. In 19981, his elder brother Mansukh Adani purchased a plastic business and offered it to Gautam Adani to operate it.

After that, he began importing raw polymers for small-scale manufacturers in 1985. The firm’s name was Adani exports limited in 1988, then changed to Adani Enterprises Limited. Today, the Adani Company is the largest private company in the world as a multi-port operator.

He has his own port named “Mudra Port,” India’s largest private-sector port with a cargo capacity of approximately 210 million tonnes per year. Then in 1996, he founded Adani Power Limited. This is a private thermal power producer in the country with a capacity of 4620 Mega Watt.
