Falguni Nayar was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on February 19, 1963. Her full name is Falguni Sanjay Nayar. Her father is an owner of a bearing company and is assisted by her mother. Actually, all her family member’s migrated from Karachi, Pakistan, to a village in Gujrat during the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947.
After that, all her family members moved to Mumbai, and she started working as a Hindi teacher. She did her early education at the New Era School, and after that, she pursued a degree from the University of Mumbai and IIM Ahmedabad.
She did two courses are Bachelor in Commerce and Post-graduate Diploma in Management.
Personal Life
Falguni Nayar belonged to the Hindu religion and was brought up in Mumbai. She met Sanjay Nayar at IIM Ahmedabad and became very close to each other, and they did graduation in 1985. After that, they both married in May 1987. Now they have two beautiful children named Anchit Nayar (son) and Adwaita Nayar (daughter).
Career
After graduating from IIM, Ahmedabad, in 1985, she joined A.F. Ferguson & Co and worked there as a manager until December 1933.
Afterward, she joined Kotak Securities and worked at a Hotel of International Business in London and Greater New York in 1994. Falguni Nayar has learned many things while working in London and New York, such as managing businesses.
This confidence later assisted her in the foundation of one of the best beauty product companies Nykaa. Then she moved to Mumbai in 2001, and she worked as a Director and Head of the Institutional Equities Business until 2007.
After that, Falguni Nayar worked for six years in Kotak Investment Banking as a Managing Director from 2007 to 2012.
